While there is a place for honour, I have always been uncomfortable with the way we tend to exaggerate it in the Church settings.

Last week in church, while my wife and myself were chatting with the Pastor’s wife who is a Nurse after church service, the pastor was busy running around and sometimes sitting on the floor while playing with our boys.

Fraser is too ordinary, until he mounts the pulpit, you will not even know he is the pastor. He sits with the congregation, no one has a special sitting position in church, (neither does he), he dresses so casually. It’s possible to mistaken him as someone coming to give announcements when he mounts the pulpit, but as soon as he starts to preach, you then know this is the man of God for this house! Sound, sincere and Christ cantered in his exposition of the word!

It was while he was engrossed playing with the boys I clicked that moment was an answered prayer! I prayed for a pastor like him!

“and I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.”
