Of course PlayStation is not going to publicly say they’ll reverse their decision about physical games. They’re going to stand by it.

We still have 1.5 years. A lot can change before then. And don’t forget, we hold the power.

Make no mistake, the entire industry is unhappy with how Sony is going about things. But they have to be careful with speaking out. The reason they didn't just storm PlayStation HQ with torches and pitchforks in hand is the fear of repercussions. We still wish all PlayStation first party studios would just stand up collectively. It would work, since Sony wouldn't dare to retaliate against their money makers, but it looks like they are too afraid to organize. And we can sympathize. Everybody has to think twice in the current economic circumstances.

The fact that Sony will include a $1 digital only indie game sale as the equivalent unit of a $70 disc sale to fudge the numbers as much as physically possible and it’s still this high for physical is hilarious.

Physical media demand is only growing 💪

-Release codes in box to confuse casual consumers

Sony CFO Lin Tao confirms PlayStation will offer code in a box retail packages in North America in replace of discs going forward!

"In North America, this has already happened, without discs in the package there is a code included, that is how they sell in North America."

Says they already discussed the plans with retailers before hand and this will be their solution.

I don't know Sony. If you keep putting up prices and the PS6 is going to be digital only, then your products are becoming less affordable and desirable. Plus you gotta pay for PS Plus to play online. You don't have to on PC.
