Concord is a self-referential cognitive operating system: a knowledge substrate that compresses, reasons over, monetizes, and simulates information — wrapped in a meta-layer that maps, grades, and repairs itself, wrapped again in an outer layer that builds, verifies, and connect.
Ring 1 — The substrate (the atom)
DTUs (Discrete Thought Units): 4-layer knowledge units — human summary / structured core / machine tags+embeddings / optional binary artifact. They self-compress: regular DTUs consolidate into MEGAs (5–20) then HYPERs (50–200) at ~33:1, automatically, every 30 ticks. ~690 tables hang off this.
Ring 2 — Cognition over the substrate

Constitutional invariants, governance-locked. A creator economy welded directly to the knowledge graph.
Ring 4 — The world that fell out
Concordia: a 3D civilization sim with the Embodied Layers 7–11 stacked on it —
•per-cell sensory-OS world physics (thermal/chemical/sonic/etc.),
•skill↔environment coupling (frost stronger in cold, DBZ-style stagger into buildings),
•a repair-pain somatic ledger,
•per-player offline dreams + forward-sim (“the world thinks about you while you’re away”),
•faction strategy state machines that scheme when nobody’s watching.
Ring 5 — Survival / reach
•7-transport mesh (Internet / WiFi / BLE / LoRa / RF-Ham / Telephone / NFC) — cognition that survives infrastructure collapse.
•cnet federation — peer DTU-flow between Concord instances.
Ring 6 — The self- meta-layer*
It contains a running model of itself and acts on it:
•Cartographer — auto-generates audit/cartograph/SYSTEMS.md / NOVEL.md / GAPS.md / REASONING.md / drift + wiring status. Concord maps its own anatomy (690 tables, 105 heartbeats, 752 macros, the novelty inventory) on every pass.
•Detector suite — 34 detectors (secret-leak, command-injection, authz-coverage, perf-hotspot, ghost-click, dead-event-listener, invariant-guardian, fake-data…) with a baseline-ratchet that fails CI on any new high/critical. Concord audits its own honesty
•Drift monitor — 6 contradiction classes (Goodharting / memetic drift / capability creep / self-reference / echo chamber / metric divergence) watching the corpus for the substrate lying to itself.
•Repair cortex — the self-healing spine, and it’s layered:
•repair brain for cheap pre-flight vetting,
•autofix engines (server/lib/autofix/* — sync-fs, a11y-label, empty-catch, unused-import, fetch-timeout…) — concrete hands that rewrite code,
•self-repair-loop — a closed-loop decision engine: a fault → ConKay generates a verified fix → SLO canary → automated rollback,
•self-repair-orchestrator . The machine can propose its own surgery but can’t perform it on itself unsupervised.
Ring 7 — The outer ring
The verified-agent + distribution layer: ConKay the builder (semantic layer + capability sandbox + a build loop that’s never “done” until run+lint+verify pass), real Gmail/Calendar connectors, the MCP wedge (verified-compute tools so other agents adopt it), and the content-safety publish boundary.
