According to Spotrac there are 36 major league starting pitchers on the IL with elbow issues. There are another 16 that are on the IL with shoulder issues. 6 others with "arm" issues.

That is a total of 58 starting pitchers on the IL across all of MLB with some sort of arm trouble. Essentially, almost 12 full teams worth rotations are on the IL due to arm issues.

That my friends, is a problem.
