97% of plague patients SURVIVED after prompt treatment with doxycycline in a randomized trial.
The dose was 100 mg every 12 hours for 7 days.
We’ve had 700 years of medical progress since the Black Death.
If this plague scare gets worse, I pray there is a conscious effort by most of American society, to not panic in any way. or even panic buy toilet paper, rice etc. And I hope people make it clear to politicians we will not let them lock us up and isolate us again!
Here we go again! More Doctors and so called “experts” weighing in on something they cannot prove either way! The official story will be that it’s NOT a bio weapon, and these so called “experts” always parrot whatever the official story anyways.
Highly recommend this entire thread for anyone interested in a serious discussion about whether or not the Irkutsk plague situation indicates a bioweapon is involved by @ggronvall—a renowned expert on biosecurity at Johns Hopkins who knows a lot about this.
SI systems are being put into autonomous war machines, self driving cars, and robots of all types. It’s only matter of time before they are used to automate manufacturing facilities. You really don’t see the danger? Or are you a bot?
@hilbertspaess Im so sick of these corny posts about the extinction of humanity from AI. Lol. Who is the physical actuator there? Does AI just magically become a physical entity, able to survive on organic material? Give me a break....
@Chicago2100 The lake front is public! The Lucas museum wanted to own the land. It is imperative that lake front land stays publicly owned and no one is ever allowed to purchase it.
@AJManaseer@FOTPChicago@FOTPChicago Is doing a great job making sure that land stays publicly owned. Chicago is one of the few cities with 15 miles of publicly owned coast line. I love Star Wars, but I would rather the lake front stay publicly owned than have that museum.
@ElNutriDice In all the decades this group has existed and all the billions of money they have raised, heart disease has continued to increase in American Society. At this point we should not believe a word they say.
Two police officers were injured in a shooting incident on South Merrill Avenue in Chicago. One officer was shot in the arm and the other in the vest; both are in stable condition. The suspect, whose condition is unclear, is being transported to a hospital. Police have secured the scene and are managing traffic to ensure ambulance access. #ChicagoScanner #DelayedDueToEncryption
@TerrellB_@CollinCorbett Not at all. There will be more people coming in to see the games, than live in the village! Way too much traffic and congestion for that residential area with northwest highway as the only feeder road.
@CollinCorbett The difference is the AH is prime residential real estate and best used for housing. The tax loss will not be abated, it will be SHIFTED to Illinois homeowners, one way or another! The South Works location is industrial, therefore It is a much better choice for a stadium
Personal Opinion: The Bears don’t need a new stadium deal. They already have the best deal in football.
At Soldier Field, the Bears pay just $6.48 million a year in rent, with increases tied to only 50% of CPI every five years. Which means their effective rent drops over time.
And no property taxes.
At $6.5M/year, it would take roughly 116 years of Soldier Field rent to equal the cost of a $2 billion new stadium commitment. And that doesn't even include property taxes or interest on the loan.
The Bears have had no problem increasing ticket prices. According to Statista, the Bears ranked fourth in the NFL in average ticket price in 2023, at $458.17 per ticket. Likely bringing in over $25M+/game. Profitability isn't an issue at Soldier Field.
For taxpayers, fans, and the Bears, Soldier Field is the obvious answer:
No new taxes.
No new property tax shifts.
No new infrastructure expenses.
No new history to build.
No alienation of fans.
And the Bears can still develop Arlington Heights or Hammond without putting a stadium there, if that's what they choose to do. Even if they want to develop west of Soldier Field, they are free to join the One Central development or start their own.
No one is stopping them from becoming real estate developers if they are dissatisfied with only being a football team.
But the bottom line: Soldier Field is the lower-cost, lower-risk option for Bears fans, taxpayers, and the region.
The General Assembly doesn't need to do anything. Soldier Field is already the best deal in the NFL.
Today, I’m releasing never before seen intelligence revealing new evidence of past US government funding for more than 120 biolabs in over 30 countries, including Ukraine.
In support of President Trump‘s Executive Order to end federal funding of dangerous gain of function research around the world, and increase transparency and accountability, ODNI will continue working with partners across the Administration to identify where these labs are, what pathogens they contain, and what “research” is being conducted.
