Few have the ability to honestly confront their own failings, flaws, self-centeredness, in short, their sin unless they are assured that grace is ready to meet them.
If you go through life too busy or indifferent to ask hard questions about why you believe as you do will find yourself defenseless against the experience of tragedy or the probing questions of skeptics. Don't just believe something because others you like do too. Do the work.
@_nomadic_soul @SayWhatGay Egalitarian absolutely believes in female submission! :) One of the key components of egal is advocating for Ephesians 5:21 (mutual submission) to be included with the following verses.
Here’s the thing. People can take away your reputation. They can take away your dignity. They can take away your position and they can take away your income. They can take away your church. They can take away your friend group. But they can’t take Jesus away from you. He keeps.
In every space you experience fear, the enemy is trying to get you to believe a lie about who God is, what He says, how He feels about you, how He sees you & what He has already promised.
I can’t recommend Scripture memory enough. We’re going to meditate. Our minds naturally think habitually. We ruminate on ourselves, our offenses, fears, cravings, jealousies, resentments & how everybody’s let us down. But what if we formed a habit of thinking on the Lord’s words?
As a Christian man, I don’t need to “tame the lion within” or some insane rhetoric like that. Would love more curriculum on having deep, vulnerable connections to other people. Not just to a wife (the damsel!) or to my kids (my legacy!) but maybe just how to be a normal ole guy?
Friendly reminder to go to therapy. The enemy wants nothing more than for your trauma and pain to stay hidden in your subconscious. When it comes to the forefront, restoration can begin.
The taboo Christian culture makes of sin infuriates me. As if vocalizing your struggles gives it “life” & destines you to do it. This is a lie from the enemy. Share your struggles with a trusted friend, far before you ever see it happening. Both shame & ego have no place here.
