@mattrett Voice came out soon after her 1983 death, a Carpenters collaboration, full of Disneyesque stylings. Lovelines was the shelved solo effort from I think 1979 or 1980 that Richard and A&M didn’t like, devastating Karen. Then in 1981 came “Made In America” that was sort of …meh.

@Noahrubin33 @ToddScoullar There was a fantastic book written by Grace Lichtenstein, 1974 or so, about the women’s circuit. The title is “ A Long Way, Baby,” with Rosie Casals on the cover. Best tennis book I’ve ever read. THAT should be the updated standard for tennis.
