This comic is awesome because the cover has so much aura and then you read the issue and it's Batman doomscrolling on his computer for 16 pages straight
Hey so "I like this fictional character" does NOT mean "I would like them as a person and support them/their actions if they were real". This new idea (or at least it's new to me) that liking evil characters makes you a bad person is so ridiculous. BORING!!
Still wild how Love and Thunder took two of the most heartbreaking comic storylines and treated them like a Saturday morning cartoon.
In Jason Aaron’s comic run, Jane wielded Mjolnir on pure merit and self sacrifice while battling cancer. The film reduced that holy mantle to an accidental boyfriend favor, revealing Thor drunkenly whispered to Mjolnir to "protect" her years ago.
Christian Bale gave an incredible performance as Gorr the God Butcher, but every single terrifying, god killing moment was constantly undermined by screaming goat gags, weapon jealousy comedy, and awkward improv.
Infinity War gave us a battle hardened god wrestling with immense grief, vengeance, and cosmic purpose. Love and Thunder dialed him down into a clueless comic relief caricature who felt detached from his own trauma.
They had the comic’s best modern run, Christian Bale, and Jane’s tragic farewell, only to turn it into an unfocused parody.
