Before cities figured out how to regulate e-scooters, trauma centers were already seeing the consequences.
One of TSACO’s most impactful early papers, “The e-merging e-pidemic of e-scooters,” helped define the injury patterns, helmet use gaps, and resource burden associated with the rise of scooters.
For TSACO’s 10-year anniversary, hear from Matthew Reeves, MD PGY-4 at Loma Linda University @LLUHealth General Surgery Residency.

@AlexThomsonMD, who works alongside #FightCRC Board Member @drfolamay at @UCLA, presented a research poster at #DDW2026 on ways to help more people get screened for #ColorectalCancer.
Their research looked at a shared decision aid that helps people learn about their colorectal cancer screening options and choose the screening test that may be right for them. The study found that people who completed the decision aid were more likely to get screened, with colonoscopy being the most commonly chosen option.
This work shows how clear information and support can help more people take the next step for their health.
Great work, Dr. Thompson, Dr. May, and the UCLA team! 👏💙
