@ThabitiAnyabwil This line of thinking is proved true when you try to get someone to see that they aren’t “okay” with God bc of their upbringing… It’s super rough in youth contexts where they are old enough to see the evils within the church but keep hearing the “good ole boy” gospel.

@BandmanRyanA I’m assigning complicity with evil to those who don’t act in any way, shape or form, because their inaction is akin to their complicity in the evil. It’s the same as turning a deaf ear or blind eye.
Just curious, why does this statement seem to bother you so much?

@BandmanRyanA The wording is on purpose, but don't miss the action of prayer and repentance. Those are actions against EVIL in all forms and locales. Don't read into the statement "blame" because no blame is being mentioned or implied. This is intended to be a self-reflective statement.

@BandmanRyanA I'm not suggesting a full frontal assault on all the evils in the world. I am asking us to examine ourselves to see how we react when faced with any evil we encounter. Inaction and complacency towards evil will lead to complicitness in that very evil.

@BandmanRyanA The person, to whom the evil is directed, will experience the same outcome from both the inactive individuals and those who condone the evils done against them.

I did intend for this to be a thought provoking statement which needs further mulling.

@BandmanRyanA I wasn't specifically referring to a certain situation but evil in the general sense. No one is trying to do "God's Job." However, if we see evil and don't have some action coming from us, we can find ourselves in the same boat as those condoning the evil. (1/)

@christyelis For me, the value of "formalized theological education" came when the faculty took my disconnected, & sometimes inconsistent, beliefs, and provided a framework and environment for correction and cohesion of those beliefs. Without this setting, I'd still be blinded to my errors.
