Five Things to Do When You’re Invited to the Police Station in Ghana
Stay Calm and Find Out Why You Have Been Invited
Politely ask the police officer why your presence is required. Request the officer’s name, rank, station, and, if possible, whether you are attending as a witness, a complainant, or a suspect. Knowing the purpose of the invitation helps you prepare appropriately.
Contact a Lawyer Before You Go
If there is any possibility that you are being investigated for an offence, speak to a lawyer before attending the station. A lawyer can advise you on your rights, accompany you during questioning, and ensure that the investigation is conducted fairly and lawfully.
Carry Valid Identification and Relevant Documents
Take a valid form of identification, such as your Ghana Card, driver’s licence, or passport. If the invitation relates to a specific matter, bring any documents that may be relevant, but only if advised to do so. Avoid taking unnecessary materials.
Exercise Your Right to Remain Silent Until You Receive Legal Advice
You are not obliged to answer questions that may incriminate you. Be respectful and cooperative, but do not make admissions or sign any statement you do not fully understand. Read every statement carefully before signing, and request corrections where necessary.
Be Respectful and Cooperate with Lawful Instructions
Attend the station at the agreed time unless you have a genuine reason for postponement. Treat officers with courtesy and comply with lawful directions. Being respectful does not mean giving up your legal rights. You can cooperate with the investigation while insisting on your constitutional protections.
@seth_doe22 That is a brilliant suggestion but how many Ghanaians have lawyers or in such a situation how can they seamlessly assess a lawyer to accompany them?

Check out the traditional site of Jesus' Last Supper, also known as the Upper Room, on Mount Zion, outside the walls of Jerusalem's Old City.
It is believed, this is where Jesus of Nazareth shared the Passover meal with his twelve disciples on the night before he crucifixion. It was here that he instituted the practice of Holy Communion, or the Eucharist, by breaking bread and sharing wine.
