@john_keim@ESPNRichmond Thoughts or insight into the potential of Quinn hiring an inexperienced NFL DC (Al Harris, Karl Scott, Daronte Jones ) but Quinn calling the plays? Or is it off the table of him calling plays?
@john_keim Yeah, I’ve listened to many. Appreciate you and the pod but piecing it together — more under center; run zone scheme with some air raid concepts in the passing; periodic tempo I am curious if he’d incorporate Monken (playbook in Cleveland), Brohm ( senior year at Purdue)… 🤷🏽♂️
@john_keim Was hoping there may have had some deeper insight… do have a timeframe for when se could hear from the hired coordinators? Combine? Minicamp?
Only four FBS DCs have been top 20 in both scoring and total defense each of the last two years. Two are part of tonight’s national title game. The four:
Bryant Haines (Indiana)
Corey Hetherman (Miami/Minnesota)
Tosh Lupoi (Oregon)
Nick Benedetto (Fresno State/Northern Illinois)
@JayDanielsMVP Main thing that continues to stick out is the age. Seems teams are doing a better job extending their own and then patch work with veteran leaders on short term deals
@Jbooty88@AndrewBuris Only concern I have is the resume and his tenure at each stop. While I understand each move is likely a move up; has not stayed at a job longer than 3 years (20 years ago)…
@john_keim - when does Adam Peters speak to the media? Seems most GMs do at trade deadline to talk about moves or lack there of but that’s come and passed. Seems Quinn’s having to take on these questions (it’s the job) when many of the concerns are roster building & design.
