In the immediate aftermath of Super Typhoon Bavi, which barrelled into the Northern Mariana Islands on Monday, WCK teams are on the ground serving hot meals. Across Tinian, Saipan, and Rota, our teams partnered with local restaurants to provide beloved dishes to shelters, households, and more. We pre-positioned before the storm struck to make sure food could reach the people who need it as quickly as possible. When the earthquakes struck, Albert (left) and Edgardo traveled from Miranda to stand alongside communities in La Guaira and help however they could. After receiving meals from WCK, they immediately offered to help deliver them too. They used their motorbike to distribute more than 1,000 hot meals to search and rescue sites that are inaccessible by larger vehicles. This way, they ensured volunteers and families have access to nourishing meals without leaving the areas where they wait and search for loved ones. #ChefsForVenezuela #FoodIsLife

Seniors are among the most vulnerable in any conflict or disaster. In Gaza, where displacement has left many without consistent access to food, the journey to find a meal can be long and exhausting. When our #ChefsForGaza team met 70-year-old Izzat Abdel Aal Al-Shafie, he had made that trek himself—displaced from his home in North Gaza and searching for food.
"When the meals reach us, we feel that someone still remembers us and cares about us," he told us.

As search and rescue efforts continue after the recent earthquakes in Venezuela, first responders and everyday people alike are working around the clock to rescue people from the rubble. When anyone detects a possible sound, someone yells, “¡Silencio!" and rescue teams go silent, listening for any signs of life.
