Zechariah says whoever touches Israel touches “the apple of God’s eye.” In Exodus, God calls Israel “his firstborn.” God isn’t looking for partners to share the glory. He’s looking for servants who understand whose hand is really holding this nation up.

So be the friend. Be the fighter. Keep doing what no president before you had the courage to do. But when the cameras are on and the temptation comes to say “me,” give the credit back to the One it belongs to. Watch how much further He takes you.

When Coptic Christians emigrate, many are very successful and seem to be over represented in the professions like law, medicine etc. Apart from the injustice and cruelty of this apartheid, what a colossal waste of talent.

Coptic Christians are the indigenous people of Egypt and direct descendants of the Pharaohs, but they are treated as second-class citizens and de facto barred from most jobs.

Copts are effectively excluded from the military, government, academia, and any public-sector or leadership roles. They are even excluded from soccer clubs and the national team.

So what can they do? One of the few options is garbage collection. Copts are 10% of the population, but 90% of garbage collectors.

This is what a real apartheid looks like.
