Matt and Samantha Brown caught Pujols’s 697th homer. Samantha’s
father passed away one year ago today. They met with Albert to give him the ball back — he told them to keep it and signed two more for them. Said it would mean more to her than to him.
This was not a swing to do damage. This was also probably not a swing that anyone would practice. This was a two-strike battle swing.
This may have been the at bat of the game because without it, there is no series winning sac fly.
Contact matters. Contact will ALWAYS matter.
You know who this is. You know that he’s not going to bunt, BUT he’s going to be great at everything he does because it’s important. At some point, he might need it to help his team! IT’S ALL IMPORTANT TO THE ONES THAT ARE SERIOUS ABOUT BEING GREAT!
Take a look for yourself and see why the @sangamoconf is seen as one of the top conferences in Illinois. Huge thanks to @Channel1450com for helping to put this piece together. #SangamoPride https://t.co/RpqaR0zcCI
RIP to Bob Gibson.
He was a competitor so fierce they had to lower the pitching mound because of him.
For me, this quote about him stands above the rest.

Culture doesn't change when coach tells a player he's wrong. It changes when players tell other players: no that's not how we do things here. – Jeff Hecklinski
Brandon Matthews (@B_Matthews12) faced a 12-footer Sunday afternoon on @PGATOURLA to maintain hopes of 2020 #KornFerryTour status.
As he stroked the putt, a fan yelled.
"At the time, I was disappointed."
Then a piece of information changed everything. https://t.co/CqxtJwmufC
“Winning is a good feeling, but it passes, and what lasts is what you’ve learned.
Winning is not the point.
Wanting to win is the point.
Not giving up is the point.
Never letting up is the point.
Never being satisfied with what you’ve done is the point.”

We need you to LEAD when:
- practice gets sloppy
- your teammate cuts a corner
- someone wants to act like a fool
- someone trashes the coaches
- someone thinks it's all about them
- the situation looks bleak
- the harder right is needed over the easier wrong

Let's talk about Tommy Edman
Leads all NL hitters in hits and 3B's in September
Finished with a higher WAR (3.9) than Kris Bryant, Manny Machado, Josh Bell, and Jose Altuve. All in just 92 games. Could be a difference maker in the playoffs.
