Religious extremists funded with US tax dollars are free to murder Americans in Israel’s occupied territories, and the administration does nothing. Here’s the father of one young victim of Israeli terrorism.
It was a great honour to host Mahatma Gandhi’s great-grandson @TusharG sir at my house.
Thank you, sir, for your words of encouragement. Cockroaches will always walk on the path shown by Bapu.
Spoke to Abdul, whose father was murdered by BJP members.
While talking to him, I broke down. But it was Abdul who gave me strength and said, “Tootna nahi hai… Humein school theek karne hain. Papa chale gaye, lekin hum school theek karke rahenge.”
Abdul, mere bhai, I am deeply sorry for your loss. Your courage says so much about the values and strength your father gave you. Even after losing him, you are the one giving strength and courage to others.
I’m sorry that today I had no words to console you or lift your spirits. All I can say is that you are family now, and we will always stand with you and your family. You are not alone in this fight.
The country is proud to have a son like you. Even after losing your father to a hate crime, you remain determined to improve the schools in your locality and make sure other children have a better future.
Your father would be proud of you, Abdul.
“I don’t need monetary compensation but a good school for poor children as a tribute to my father.”
I will never forget these words from Abdul. I don’t think I have ever met someone who loves India as much as Abdul.
Abdul lost his father now the country needs stand with him.
Abdul went to inspect the govt school in Bengal where he once studied. He lost his father after they were attacked by goons (allegedly from BJP) for speaking up about the poor condition of govt schools.
It makes my blood boil that people are being murdered simply for demanding better schools.
CJP stands firmly with Abdul and his family. We demand the immediate arrest of those responsible for his father’s death. A CJP team will visit West Bengal and ensure that Abdul and his family get justice.
And to the hatemongers who think they can silence us through violence: we are not going to back off. Attack our members, threaten us, try to intimidate us, we will only fight harder.
We will not be silenced. We will not be intimidated. We will keep fighting for better schools.
Yeah, that's me.
In a Palestinian ambulance attempting to deliver food to a besieged house and to evacuate children from under threat. I was in the ambulance in case it was attacked by settler-terrorists.
And guess what? It was.
