@sympmarc We decided to reindex all related site collections (~ 6.000 sites) and MS support recommended the same.. I couldn't get any closer to the reason why with MS support - unfortunately.. The reindex not really an viable option IMHO, but it seems to working better now.

Anyone else with SPO search issues lately? It doesn't seem that search picks up the latest version/changes to a list item... This results in search showing "old" results even though the version history on the list item tells another story..! #sphelp #sharepointonline

@sympmarc Yes, I know about the latency. But in this case its generic list items (not pages/documents), so checkin/publish isn't really the issue here. The items has been crawled after the latest changes (4 months ago) and search suddently decides to show an earlier version of the items.
