New Jersey Jewish schools renew their plea for state-paid security enhancements after Pittsburgh synagogue shooting https://t.co/3vdEXRUlyF via @bpolitics
In 2017:
108 applicants
28 received the funding including 7 Synagogues and one Jewish day school
INADEQUATE FUNDING FOR ACTUAL NEED OF MUSLIMS JEWS AND CATHOLICS
We asked state to allocate $10 million and they gave $2 million in 2017 and then cut it to $500,000 in 2018
An entire SLATE of candidates lost in NY last night for many reasons but one MAJOR one is they completely ignored the Orthodox and Jewish day school vote. We are the largest in the country and 1 out of 13 New York children attends a Jewish day school.
Still no resolution! Shame on #Trenton! Every child should be secure. NJ must reassess its priorities. I’m ashamed that the state I live in behaves this way.
The Murphy administration has until Aug. 31 to respond to a lawsuit that seeks to compel the state to do more to desegregate schools. The plaintiffs have called this issue the "civil rights struggle of our time." https://t.co/VwccCqjkz4
5 months after this announcement & NJ has increased the disparity of security funding between nonpublic and public schools. This is a major issue for 10% of the education population and Jewish,Catholic,Muslim leaders call on Trenton to fix this

SHAME ON NJ! Despite pledges from nearly every politician to fight for the security of ALL children - nonpublic schools received ZERO increased security funding. This oped by Muslim,Jewish,Catholic leaders is a must read. https://t.co/sDlpT5Grdr
New Jersey: Important action required. Please contact your legislators and ask them to support S2660/A4098 a bill to ensure nonpublic schools have access to qualified #STEM instructors https://t.co/83OFdqM2Hq #STEMedforall
It's truly remarkable to see the impact that we can make together! Thank you @NYGovCuomo for joining us at @OfficialHAFTR and @MDYSchool to celebrate and present the newly allocated security funding! https://t.co/BZYO1AEx0E
Congratulations, @DrLRepollet, on becoming confirmed as the Commissioner of Education for the State of New Jersey! We look forward to bringing high quality of education to all of NJ’s students!
