@AliRogin@CDCgov@alirogin "Departure" is the wrong word. Monarez was forced out. Let's be clear on that. There is a huge difference and bigger implications.
@heymrsbond He is a maddening mixed bag. However, I do think he is the right person in this moment. But that could easily change at anytime given the dynamic circumstances we find ourselves in and other leaders step up.
@heymrsbond I agree with you. His comments about trans kids and sports were reprehensible and his recent "hardline" on homelessness is cruel & misguided . But he did push to legalize same sex marriage and his Care not Cash program fundamentally changed the way homelessness is addressed.
@heymrsbond Living in California for 32 years in SF I have experienced Newsom's leadership first hand. From city supervisor to gov. Your categorical statement is not true. He is not perfect. Some of initiatives for the vulnerable worked. Some did not.
@heymrsbond The difference is Gov Newsom is the governor of California, a deep blue state. And in a position to exercise real, effective power against this fascist administration
@sullislug@RandiWhite It will. I think we have to acknowledge it won't ever be "fixed" and start working on what new vision of progressive government looks like.
