What a mess. HMG was right the first time. Pensioners are a coddled and entitled generation and it’s long past time they realised it & gave something back.
Dual income pensioners bringing in sub £70k will receive a winter fuel stipend.
Bizarre when you consider graduates/millennials/young families will earn far less (thank you stagnating wages) and receive no help.
Is this policy designed to help people, or to appease the press?
If you're a pension-age couple with a combined income of just under £70,000 a year, the government will give you taxpayers' money to pay your energy bills with. If you're a family earning a fraction of that amount and struggling to keep your children warm this winter, no help with your bills for you. How it that right or fair?
@anon_opin Yes but we should also halve the number of MPs. It’s a national parliament and the concerns of inner city Liverpool are not that distinct from inner city Manchester, suburban Birmingham to suburban Bristol, etc. They should be acting on national, not local issues
@PaulieScanlon The funny thing about the bun website is it shows Node is obviously so awful because it can ONLY handle 13,967 requests per second. Like... chill, your app is not doing more than that. People building for imaginary scale instead of solving actual problems!
@PaulieScanlon 1000%. I'm so glad I rise above all of this latest shiniest Javascript nonsense. My tactic works great - I hear the names of the latest things but spend no time learning them. If I still hear the names 2 years on I might think about investigating 😀
10 years ago today @aaronsw took his own life after overly aggressive prosecution.
He invented internet infrastructure.
He defeated the greatest threat the Internet had ever seen.
And you probably don't know who he is.
You should.
Here’s his story 🧵
There should be a technology for finding items that works between BLE found in AirTags/Tile (~10m) and GPS (worldwide). Like a low power thing that works up to a few miles?
