@wirecutter Hey @wirecutter, your recommendations for smart smoke alarms are objectively terrible. Amazon reviews of your recommended models show person after person impacted by poorly functioning wifi, false alarms, etc. Even comments from your own readers are terrible. FAIL!!
We just met a German 6th grader — whose school is a pioneer in Holocaust remembrance work — and she cut to the core of education/book bans:
“We need to know what happened so it doesn’t happen again. So we know not to vote for people who want to hate others and do it again.”
The story of Fraenkelufer Synagogue isn’t over. They never rebuilt the main sanctuary and have been using the youth wing since 1945. Now, in partnership with a Muslim Palestinian-German leader & the community, they’re finally rebuilding it.
Our safety is always in solidarity.
Last night, I went to Shabbat at a Berlin synagogue that was destroyed during Kristallnacht. The Pittsburgh verdict came out as I was headed to services.
It was the most meaningful moment of my trip, sitting in that synagogue thinking about the long arc of Jewish resilience.
Honestly acknowledging history is the only way forward. The boil must be lanced or the wound will continue to fester. We’re fighting a war on memory and losing it is not an option.
@mliebermandc @CristinaMFinch @mliebermandc thank you for sharing! Hope you saw the companion film about the connection between 6th grade project and the lynching memorial (@MemPeaceJustice): https://t.co/jV6lsMjhhm

Learning about how to navigate the many minefields of Holocaust memory from one of the best Shoshana Bellen https://t.co/003LKGkhdS Her story of returning to Germany and embracing forgiveness is powerful.
P1 This has been a special day 😁 Spent this morning learning about the Remembrance Wall @ Locknitz primary school https://t.co/6h5ipAz8mZ in Berlin. The wall inspired Bryan Stevenson to create the Peace and Justice Memorial in Alabama. 🌈🥰
Last night had the privilege to sit with Shoshana Bellen a leading advocate for descendants of Holocaust survivors especially in Germany and Israel. Legit! Her work with Badehaus in Germany is inspirational. https://t.co/003LKGkhdS I know we will be working together soon 👍🌈🥰
@EllenBarryNYT@EllenBarryNYT, thank you for your story about the heroes living in the Holyoke Soldiers' Home. Well researched, well written, and so moving. I so wish we hadn't failed these men when they needed it most. Plese keep up the great work.
See how small yellow bricks commemorating victims of the #Holocaust in Berlin and awarded the #Obermayer Award have influenced a #memorial in Montgomery, Alabama. @jbobermayer https://t.co/F5zZSossGq
