My brother Zulkifilu Dalhatu, I watched your video twice. The first time, I heard your anger. The second time, I heard the hurt beneath it. You spoke of meetings that ran into the night, of hunger and thirst, of court battles and of young people you kept asking to be patient. Then you asked, “Where is the justice?” You deserve an answer to that question. We have worked together, and I remember when you bought your party ticket and came to my office. I will not pretend your disappointment is small, and I will not abandon you halfway through a journey we have shared.

You said something else that stayed with me: “I am still young.” You are. One appointment cannot measure everything you have given, nor should it decide everything you can still become. I have heard your account of what you were promised ealier. I will reach out to you personally and help bring that conversation to life. You have every right to seek a meaningful role and, one day, to seek leadership of the youth wing through the party’s processes. My recent appointment to lead youth mobilisation carries a duty to make room for young people with the courage to work and to question us. That includes you.

You entrusted your affairs to Allah. The Qur’an reminds us: “Perhaps you dislike something which is good for you … Allah knows and you do not know” (Al-Baqarah 2:216). I cannot claim to know what Allah has written for either of us. I only know that families sometimes misunderstand one another, then sit down and put things right. You have announced your departure publicly, but We have not received a formal resignation. I would like us to speak before that decision becomes final. In my new role leading youth mobilisation, I want to hear what went wrong and help secure a meaningful place for you to contribute. I will reach out personally, and we can take your concerns to those responsible for the appointment. If you still aspire to lead the youth wing, pursue that ambition. We may disagree along the way, as families do, but you belong in the ADC family you helped build. I believe your place is here with us, rather than in the APC or elsewhere.

You once asked what would distinguish the ADC from the APC if we failed to practise justice ourselves. That is a challenge we should take seriously, not an argument to silence. You have also posted recently, “TINUBU MUST GO!” If that remains your conviction, come back and help us finish the work we started: organise young Nigerians, earn their trust and make our case at the ballot box. Come home, Zulkifilu. We still have work to do together.

I congratulate our great party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC), under the able leadership of Distinguished Senator David Mark, GCON, on the thoughtful and inclusive composition of the Presidential Campaign Council.

I particularly congratulate H.E. Chief John Odigie Oyegun, Chairman of the Campaign Advisory Board; Alhaji Kashim Ibrahim-Imam, Chairman of the National Campaign Council; Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, Deputy Chairman; and Senator Austin Akobundu, Director-General and Campaign Manager, as well as all those entrusted with various responsibilities in the campaign structure.

The composition brings together individuals with diverse experiences in public service, politics, policy, administration and grassroots mobilisation from different parts of our country.

Those who have been called upon to serve must recognise that the responsibility before us goes beyond individual appointments or personal recognition. It is a call to service at an important moment in our nation’s democratic journey.

I remain fully committed to our party and our collective effort to rescue Nigeria and build a country that works for all its citizens. I am confident that the Atiku/Amaechi ticket will rescue Nigeria and provide the leadership required to address the challenges confronting our nation.

When fuel becomes more affordable, transportation costs can ease. The cost of moving food from farms to markets can come down. Small businesses can breathe again. Families can keep more of their hard-earned money.
