Scientists mapped a piece of brain the size of half a grain of rice.
One-millionth the size of the human brain.
It took them a year and over 1.4 million gigabytes to scan it.
They found over 57,000 cells, 150 million synapses, and even some new structures they didn't know existed.
Mapping the entire human brain in this level of detail would require all the data storage generated on Earth in a year + a 140-acre data center.
But the human brain itself can hold up to ~2.5 million gigabytes of information - enough for ~3 million hours of HD video or 342 years of continuous viewing.
It can process roughly 10 quadrillion calculations per second - enough processing power to run over 4,000 high-end gaming PCs all operating at peak ability.
And it only runs on the amount of power needed for a single dim light bulb.
No technology even comes close to doing what the brain can do.
The more we learn about biology, the more complex it becomes.
This is God's Glory on display.
@pfinanceblogs@themotleyfool Fees are important- but a very narrow point. What’s the point of humans? What’s our role as practitioners if it’s only about saving fees? What are the costs of emotions- poor behavior? Not staying invested kills far more wealth than the cost of the management.
@themotleyfool Yes. In a vacuum this is spot on. Except research shows people use the same investments and have vastly different results because of fear/selling/emotions and exiting the market. Fees have an impact… emotions have a far larger impact negatively as shown by research.
@MikeCosper Mike, I genuinely like your work. Thank you. And also…some may. Even for some of the world’s brightest and knowledgeable about economics the verdict is far from “it’s all good or all bad”. I leave this from @elerianm

I’m repeatedly being asked “how inflationary will tariffs be?”
Unlike others who have proclaimed either “very” or “not at all,” I am quick to say we don’t know for sure.
This is not because I don’t want to commit. It’s because there are several factors in play that translate not just into genuine analytical uncertainty but also consequential sector- and good- specific differences.
They include demand and supply elasticities, the speed of price pass throughs, the extent to which inflationary expectations have been impacted by the experience of 2021-22 and, of course, statecraft on all sides.

JUST IN: The man who was k*lled at Trump's Pennsylvania rally has been identified as former fire chief for Buffalo Township, Corey Comperatore.
Rest in peace.
Comperatore's last act on this planet was shielding his daughter from the bullets.
"The PA Trump Rally claimed the life of my brother, Corey Comperatore. The hatred for one man took the life of the one man we loved the most."
"He was a hero that shielded his daughters. His wife and girls just lived through the unthinkable and unimaginable," his sister said on FB.
"My baby brother just turned 50 and had so much life left to experience. Hatred has no limits and love has no bounds. Pray for my sister-in-law, nieces, my mother, sister, me and his nieces and nephews as this feels like a terrible nightmare but we know it is our painful reality."
@wesbury Brian- how does that affect your target returns for S&P? Do you expect a pullback from current valuations of S&P/Nasdaq? Would a pullback of -10% be a buying opportunity in your mind?
Bad forms of persuasion: I’m right, and you are wrong and let me tell you why.
Good forms of persuasion: Here is your argument to the best of my knowledge. Is it so? If so, have you thought about...
@edstetzer@WheatonCollege Ed, my wife completes Propel and it was such an amazing blessing for her. I will influence our family for generations. Thank you and God bless you and Wheaton. A special place!
@wesbury Brian- asking for clarification. You say current interest rates-- what is Fair Value after another 50-75 Basis point rate hikes expected this year? thanks and go @LibertyHockey@LUKirkHandy
@Sean_McDowell@randyalcorn great conversation on Heaven guys! … I’ll ask the question… is there physical/sexual intimacy in Heaven/new earth!?! It feels like the question about “marriage” might be more about physical/sexual intimacy. - I’d love your thoughts! —part #1
