I don't think viewers really look at the viewership of something and decide not to watch but maybe I'm wrong.
Viper vs Dogao in HC3, Hera vs Jordan in HC4 both iconic, both on Islands.

@grathwrang @uppytee @TheShaunChand @Nerfoxingaround I don’t think I agree with either point. I think aoe2 is in a reasonably healthy position at the moment. I think comparing covid times with the years following is very misleading. If you take that out, as @Masmorra_AoE showed, it is generally on the up in terms of viewership

@grathwrang @uppytee @TheShaunChand @Nerfoxingaround Correlation doesn’t necessarily equal causation. I’d be very interested in reading an in-depth analysis of it rather than sweeping statements. I personally prefer tournaments to have a wide variety of maps and styles. I want to see players demonstrate their skills in lots of ways
