What a great #DREAM2024 conference this weekend! Thank you to @TulaneMedicine and the GI faculty who put it together! A great example of what we can do to start addressing disparities when minds come together.

[Jessica Briscoe, MD @Jbriscoe_md]

@gradydoctor closed #ABGHNEXUS24 with a powerful talk on the impact of HBCUs — the numbers are undeniable, and seeing her gift of storytelling in person -> no dry eyes in the room at the end 😭 #blackjoy #blackexcellence

[Adjoa Anyane-Yeboa, MD MPH @AdjoaGIMD]

Did you know that 73% of med students come from the top 2 household income quintiles? If we are really committed to DEI we need to do things differently. @gradydoctor @blackingastro

Many folks who use “woke” with contempt today probably would have hated Daddy when he was alive.

He was very conscious and committed to eradicating what he called the Triple Evils of racism, poverty and militarism.

If you’re quoting him to stop truthful teaching about him…

[Be A King @BerniceKing]

Dear politicians/political influencers:

When you evoke my father this #MLKDay, remember that he was resolute about eradicating racism, poverty, and militarism. And about corrective justice work.

Don’t just quote him.

Encourage and enact policies that reflect his teachings.

[KizzyPhD @KizzyPhD]

I have been up all night thinking about this. We are in a very sad state over in academia land.

It doesn’t feel safe.
I don’t feel protected.

And, I am tired of grieving.

@AdamEhrlichMD @TempleGastro Thanks Adam 🙏🏽
