Under capitalism, a “good economy” is one that’s generating profits for the owner class. It has little to do with conditions for the average person. The economy is “good” b/c they kept generating profits even as a million people died & many lost their homes.
You can’t tell people we’re just going to “live with Covid” & provide no plan for what happens when a significant portion of the population, including children, end up with longterm chronic illness as a result OR when we still have other variants potentially to come.
u have to wait 4hrs to get a covid test 2yrs into the pandemic but in the time u spent waiting jeff bezos made $3 million so there's really no way to tell if america is bad or not
And the fact teachers had to protest & force a school system to provide N95 masks for everyone is likewise a damning indictment of a system that doesn’t actually prioritize the health of staff & students
Someone else pointed this out but the fact that so many children depend on school as their only meal for the day is a damning indictment of an economy that doesn’t pay ppl enough to live
