Important Update: GISD End of School Year Announcement - May 29, 2024 2:54 p.m.

After thoroughly assessing the recent power outages and building damages across our district, the decision has been made to cancel school tomorrow, Thursday, May 30, 2024. There will be no make up days and this concludes the remainder of the school year.

We understand that this is typically a fun and exciting time of year for students, with many special events and activities planned. Please know that this decision was not made lightly, and our primary concern remains the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and community members. The challenges posed by the recent weather have made it impractical for campuses to continue with school. While many families were fortunate not to lose power or have their homes impacted by the storms, many of our GISD communities continue to be impacted.

Please reach out to your child’s campus counselor or Student Services to request assistance or support during this time.
