Jesus warned us that while men slept, an enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat. No one saw it coming. By the time it was recognized, the roots had become so intertwined that separating them would have damaged the wheat as well.
That parable should cause us to be watchful today!
Not everything that appears good is from God, and not everyone who promises help has pure motives. Jesus never told us to judge by words, appearances, or promises alone. He said, "You will know them by their fruit."
For a time, wheat and tares can look remarkably alike. The difference is often subtle and difficult to discern.
We are living in a time when deception often wears a convincing disguise. What is false may appear true. What is harmful may be presented as helpful. What is counterfeit may closely resemble the genuine.
But Jesus assured us that the truth will not remain hidden forever.
Test everything by its fruit, and do not allow yourself to be lulled into spiritual sleep while the enemy is at work.
"Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober." โ 1 Thessalonians 5:6
@RealJamesWoods During WWII, my mother was a turret lathe operator in the same shipyard where my father was a master machinist. That's where met and that's why I am here!
