What is happening at CBS News makes me tremendously sad. It’s a shame that they seem to feel empowered to dismiss outstanding journalists, from anchors to correspondents, for political reasons.
Scott Pelley fires back at "60 Minutes" after being fired and says Paramount-Skydance is weakening the news show "apparently to curry favor with the Trump administration."
“Last month, '60 Minutes' lost its DNA when our entire senior leadership and two of our best on-air correspondents were cruelly fired without cause. Good people were silenced because they stood up for our audience. They stood for fairness against the forces of political bias; they stood for professionalism against chaos... Recently, politicians have been invited to choose correspondents for interviews on the broadcast. Giving politicians control over '60 Minutes' interviews is not how this is done. Incompetence and unprofessionalism in the new management have wreaked havoc."

The end of two eras at CBS.
After nearly a century on the airwaves, CBS News Radio signs off Friday, closing the book on a broadcast institution that carried Americans through pivotal moments in history. The lights will also go out on Broadway's Ed Sullivan Theater as Stephen Colbert hosts the Late Show's final broadcast after 33 years on the air.
Wow. In one of the most emotional moments in television history, Stephen Colbert signs off his show’s last opening monologue by sharing that he realized his job was to “feel the news” with us.
What a class act and an extraordinary person. Thank you Stephen.
