Paria Marandiz Sentenced and Imprisoned in Tehran 

On 22 November 2025, Mrs. Paria Marandiz, a Baha’i residing in Tehran, was transported to Evin Prison to begin serving a two-year prison sentence.

Branch 23 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court had earlier sentenced Mrs. Marandiz to three years in prison on baseless charges of "propaganda activities against the Islamic Republic during the 12-day war" and "propaganda activities in support of and aimed at strengthening the Israeli regime." She was also given a two-year ban on Internet and social media activity.

Based on Article 134 of the Islamic Penal Code, the severest charge of "propaganda in support of the Israeli regime" is enforceable resulting in a two-year prison term. Eighteen months of her sentence is suspended for five years.

Her trial was held on 21 September 2025, following an earlier interrogation on 16 August 2025, at Branch 3 of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office in Tehran. She was released on bail set at 3.5 billion tomans after her interrogation.
