On this Independence Day, I choose to set myself free from people who have broken my trust. I shared my secrets with them—things that were meant to stay only between us—only to find out they were telling others, even using me as an example without any regard for my dignity.

When they were the ones at fault, I forgave them and humbled myself to make things right; yet when I made a mistake, they grew furious and judged me harshly, acting as if they had never done anything wrong and had always been perfect in my eyes.
