In Tallinn, Minister Anand met with Canadian embassy officials before the inauguration of the Canadian Embassy in #Estonia, to thank them for their work advancing Canada–Estonia relations and bolstering Canada’s presence in the Baltics.
Good to welcome Canadian Foreign Minister @AnitaAnandMP to Tallinn today.
The inauguration of Canada’s Embassy in Estonia marks an important milestone, reflecting the strength and depth of our bilateral relations and our shared commitment to transatlantic security 🇪🇪🇨🇦.
Estonia highly values Canada’s strong presence and leadership on NATO’s Eastern Flank and its steadfast support for Ukraine.
Welcome to Estonia and happy birthday, dear Anita!
Had a good discussion today with my Canadian and Baltic colleagues on strengthening security cooperation and transatlantic ties. We focused on Russia’s ongoing aggression against Ukraine and the need to increase coordinated pressure on Moscow, including stronger sanctions, targeting the shadow fleet, and restricting Russia’s energy revenues.
Canada’s role as a trusted NATO ally and key contributor to security on the Alliance’s eastern flank, as well as its support for Ukraine through military, humanitarian, and development assistance, is extremely important. Estonia values Canada’s leadership, including its efforts to address the abduction of Ukrainian children.
We remain committed to deepening Baltic–Canada cooperation, countering Russia’s disinformation and malign influence, and strengthening our transatlantic partnership.

In Melitopol, authorities started inspections of history tutors. teachers are required to undergo retraining and teach only according to Russian programs. This is coordinated with the FSB.
They are concerned about private lessons, as they are more difficult to control

Seven years ago, Canada condemned the use of the Novichok chemical agent on U.K. soil. Today, we again stand with the U.K. after an inquiry confirmed Russia’s responsibility for the 2018 poisoning of Dawn Sturgess and Charlie Rowley.
