I was a responsible Floridian adult and went to my derm. One mole biopsy later with a handful of sunscreen for oily skin…I am breaking out like a teen. Ugh. Any tried and true daily sunscreen recs for sensitive skin?
@alechiadow You should proclaim your joy loudly! Don’t lessen your light for someone else’s insecurities. Be proud of what you’ve accomplished! Those who matter will celebrate with and be inspired by you.
Listening to HAPPY PLACE. I’ve already cried three times. My heart is in tatters and held together by fraying threads.
…and there’s still an hour and thirty-eight minutes to go. I don’t think I can take it. I am in an emotional maelstrom.
But also…stopping is not an option.
My first FR gave me the highest of highs. My first rejection gave me the lowest of lows. But each book teaches you more and gives you more time to learn and practice your craft. And I truly believe that when you and your book are ready, things will happen.
I think the most important thing to have as a writer is your community. Trad publishing is a path of rejection but, if you want it, you have to expect the many “no thanks.”
Your community reminds you:
🧵
It is always disheartening. It always makes you doubt.
But if you want to do THE THING, you can’t let the rejections make you quit. Let those rejections make you BETTER.
If you quit…did you really want THE THING in the first place?
@IlanaGermaine@carolinaesant1 I met with 8 agents. I had my pitch typed out and read it after I introduced myself, and had some questions ready (both about the pitch and the agent’s style). They also asked me questions (characters, world building, etc).
@IlanaGermaine@carolinaesant1 Is it the Florida Writing Workshop? I did it last year and LOVED my experience. It was nerve wracking but I got great feedback that helped me edit my query and pitch.
