Hebron. August 24, 1929. Sixty-seven Jews murdered. Elderly rabbis. Religious students. Members of families whose ancestors had lived in that city for centuries. Their community was shattered, their homes violated, their lives extinguished by a mob screaming for Jewish blood.

Remember that when some smug bastard lectures you about how Israeli occupation explains the bloodshed.

Because Hebron was hardly the beginning. In 1834, mobs ravaged Safed's Jewish quarter for 33 days, looting homes and desecrating synagogues. In 1938, nineteen Jews were slaughtered in Tiberias. Eleven were children.

And the Christians? They endured religious subordination, massacres, and extortion across generations. What the hell were they occupying? Their churches? Their ancestral homes? The ground beneath their feet?

These victims present an enormous problem for anyone determined to squeeze centuries of violence into a neat little morality play beginning in 1948.

So the history gets amputated.

The Jewish grandmother in Hebron disappears. The children in Tiberias disappear. The terrified Christians disappear. Every inconvenient grave is pushed beyond the boundaries of the approved narrative, because acknowledging those lives would mean confronting a history far uglier and older than the slogans allow.

That's the intellectual cowardice at the heart of selective historical memory. People who demand endless context for violence suddenly develop a spectacular fucking allergy to context when it reaches back too far.

And the betrayal goes beyond the dead. It reaches their descendants, whose family histories are reduced to inconvenient footnotes while political arguments proceed as though their suffering never happened.

You can rewrite a textbook. You can manipulate a timeline. You can pretend history began precisely where your preferred explanation becomes convenient.

But you cannot move a grave.

Those people died in 1834, 1929, and 1938.

And no amount of ideological bullshit will ever make them die in 1948.
