The Loew's Theater opened in 1929 in Jersey City. Built for stage productions & movie screenings, the theater was called, "the most lavish temple of entertainment in New Jersey."

A 1772 Foundation grant helped fund marquee roof repair/replacement.

John Tichenor, a lion of environmental activism in Jersey City passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2019. He founded the Friends of Liberty State Park with Sam Pesin and the late Audrey Zapp. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to- the Friends of Liberty State Park.
