I want to challenge all Christians with something heading into the week. Please read the parable, read my thoughts, then reflect:
𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝗼𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐭
Luke 14:15-24
Then He replied to him, “A man once gave a great banquet and invited many. And at the time for the banquet he sent his slave to say to those who had been invited, ‘Come, for everything is now ready.’ But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said to him, ‘I have bought a field, and I must go out and see it; please have me excused.’ And another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to examine them. Please have me excused.’ And another said, ‘I have just been married, and therefore I cannot come.’ So the slave came back and reported these things to his master. Then the head of the household became angry and said to his slave, ‘Go out at once into the streets and lanes of the city and bring in here the poor and the crippled and the blind and the lame.’ And the slave said, ‘Master, what you commanded has been done, and still there is room.’ And the master said to the slave, ‘Go out into the roads and the hedges and press upon them to come in, so that my house will be filled. For I tell you, none of those men who were invited shall taste my dinner.’ ”
This parable teaches us a multitude of things including salvation. However, this parable has also been speaking to me as of late. A lot of times we pray for God to give us opportunities to serve Him, but we never take action. Many of us have invitations to the banquet, but reject it because we claim to be busy. In the same way we have opportunities to serve, whether that be in our church or out in our communities. Be the hands and feet of Jesus and be doing something in your life that serves Him.
Christianity is not built on works, rather by faith. There’s a two-way street there. If you truly believe in Jesus, you will act as you believe. You will take the invitation and attend the banquet. You will take the opportunities to serve and help. To believe in Christ is to act like Christ and serve like Christ.
That is the challenge I hope each of us can take into this week. Find a way to serve others and advance His Holy Kingdom.
The final hour I’m asking all Saint fans and MSU fans to help me get to my 1st probowl . I thank you all in advance ❗️ I will give 2 fans a signed jersey no matter what❗️ #ProBowlVote + @iam_jtgray retweet = 2 votes
