Looking forward to diving into this program! Seems to be a good way to deliver content in an engaging way. Ss get to complete quests & fight bosses by doing assignments. Upload your existing lesson plans to it. https://t.co/KMnkzLOwvL #STEAMteams#jcgamefication@classcraftgame
Robotics update. All teams robot bases up & rolling! Testing w/obstacle courses is up next. Many have experimented with adding bulldozer shovels, toothed wheels for extra traction, and a battering ram! Check out one team's bot with a grabber claw and carrying hopper. #STEAMteams
Had an idea for biology STEAM. Bionics! Introduce Adaptive Tech, & prosthetics to combine engineering and biology & some disability awareness/sensitivity. Research and build devices that mimic organs & systems. Site w/ideas

I used to be hard on due dates. Too often students would rather not even do the work & take 0 after 0 if they might not finish. They're NOT getting paid & grades are too abstract to care about. Give them a reason to finish. Goals, rewards, & recognition help. #EDchat
@TeachersJourney Yes! Using tech and integrating tech are 2 different things! Make it part of the lesson, not just a tool. Teaching ELA?, use mapmaking to track epic journeys. Teaching anatomy? build/design a prosthetic or device to help. Teaching math? Code a game to show grids!

@nlehmann16 I've tried making timeliness part of the grading rubric. Points earned just for turning it in on time, complete or not. It helps, but not perfect. What have you tried? #EDThink

Role-playing games(RPGs) are storytelling games. Players take the role of characters & act out scenarios. HeroKids is an RPG that teaches teamwork, narrative development, & gives kids a chance to walk in someone else's shoes. https://t.co/yM0UFwmktX @jcgamefication @STEAMteams
Found a free online floorplan tool for designing buildings, homes, and rooms, if you want the kids to redesign the classroom space! https://t.co/Uh0Ck09DC5 @roomsketcher@kdonne
My 6th grade robotics team at LMS hard at work! They've built stage 1 (the RC base of their robot) and are testing its handling. Up next... claws! #STEAMTeams#jcgamefication#vexiqrobots
Found an interesting list of suggestions for adding a few simple game elements to an everyday classroom. The "getting points" instead of "getting grades" one sounds cool. Combined with #5 could really encourage kids to track their own grades! #jcgamefication
