A Father’s Wish:
Fulfilled by the Commissioner @SandeepRRathore

Partha was a retired employee of Indian Airlines, who had worked hard all his life to provide for his family. He had three sons and a daughter, who were all settled in different places. He and his wife Valli lived with their youngest son in Madipakkam, a suburb of Chennai.

Partha had a piece of land in Chengundram village, which he had bought many years ago and registered in his wife’s name. He had divided his other properties among his children, hoping that they would be happy and grateful.

As Partha and Valli grew older, they faced many health problems and needed money for their treatment. Partha decided to sell the land in Chengundram and deposit the money in a bank, so that they could live on the interest. He thought it was a sensible and fair decision, since the land belonged to his wife and he had already given his share to his children.

But his eldest son did not agree with his father’s plan. He wanted the land for himself, and he secretly took away the original documents without his father’s permission. He ignored his father’s repeated requests to return them, and even threatened him with legal action if he tried to sell the land.

Partha was heartbroken and helpless. He felt betrayed by his own son. He felt like he had no one to turn to, except his wife, who was also suffering with him.

He decided to seek help from the Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai Police, who had launched a special initiative to visit the houses of senior citizens and redress their grievances. He wrote a complaint letter and sent it to the Commissioner, hoping that he would get justice.

The Commissioner of Police took Partha’s complaint seriously and directed the DCP, St.Thomas Mount to visit his house and inquire into the matter. A police team headed by Dr.Deepak Siwach, IPS, DCP, St.Thomas Mount visited Partha’s house and listened to his story. They also contacted Mahendran and asked him to hand over the documents to his father.

Madipakkam Range Police officers arranged a "Patta book" at the residence of elders to provide them with any assistance they might need.

The DCP’s intervention worked wonders. His elder son realized his mistake. He apologized to his father and returned the documents to him. He also promised to support him in whatever decision he made regarding the land.

Partha was overjoyed and relieved. He thanked the Commissioner of Police and the DCP for their timely help and kindness.

He and his wife felt more secure and happy, knowing that they had someone to care for them in their old age.

சென்னை பெருநகர காவல் ஆணையாளர் திரு சந்திப்பாய் ரத்தோர் இ.கா.ப. அவர்கள் உத்தரவின் பெயரில் சென்னை பெருநகரில் வசிக்கும் மூத்த குடிமக்களின் குறைகளை சென்னை பெருநகர காவல் அதிகாரிகள் மூத்த குடிமக்களின் வீடுகளுக்கே நேரில் சென்று விசாரணை செய்து நடவடிக்கைகள் எடுத்து வருகின்றனர்.

இதன் தொடர்ச்சியாக சென்னை மடிப்பாக்கம் பகுதியில் 80 வயது நிறைந்த மூத்த குடிமக்கள் வசித்து வருகின்றனர். இவர்களுக்கு மூன்று மகன்கள் மற்றும் ஒரு மகள் உள்ளனர். முதியோர்கள் தமது இறுதி கால மருத்துவ தேவைகளுக்காக மனைவி பெயரில் செங்கல்பட்டு மாவட்டம் செங்குன்றம் கிராமத்தில் உள்ள 6000 சதுர அடி கொண்ட நிலத்தை மட்டும் தன் வசம் வைத்துக்கொண்டு மற்ற சொத்துக்களை தங்களுடைய பிள்ளைகளுக்கு சரி சமமாக பங்கிட்டு கொடுத்துள்ளனர்.

முதியோர்கள் மாதம் தோறும் மருத்துவ மற்றும் இதர செலவுகளுக்கு அதிக அளவில் பணம் தேவைப்படுவதால் மேற்கண்ட நிலத்தை விற்க முயற்சி செய்துள்ளனர். ஆனால் அவர்களது மூத்த மகன் மேற்படி நிலத்தை விற்கக் கூடாது எனக் கூறி அசல் ஆவணங்களை முதியோர்களின் அனுமதி இல்லாமல் எடுத்துச் சென்றுள்ளார். இது குறித்து தகுந்த நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கும்படி முதியோர்கள் காவல்துறையை அணுகியபோது காவல்துறையினர் அவர்களின் வீட்டிற்கு அனுப்பப்பட்டு விசாரணை மேற்கொண்டனர்.

காவல்துறை விசாரணையில் முதியோர்களின் மூத்த மகன் சம்பந்தப்பட்ட நிலத்தின் அசல் ஆவணங்களை தனது தந்தையிடம் ஒப்படைத்தார். இதன் மூலம் மிகவும் மகிழ்ந்த முதியோர்கள் சென்னை பெருநகர காவல் துறையின் இத்தகைய மனிதாபிமான மற்றும் துரிதமான நடவடிக்கையை மிகவும் மனதார பாராட்டினர்.👏👏👏👏
