Quasi-Marxist energy secretary Miatta Fahnbulleh is planning to raise annual heat pump installation targets for manufacturers from the current 8% to 18% of their sales. Under an absurd Orwellian rule suppliers are fined £500 for every heat pump they fail to sell below the government’s target. The cost of that fine is passed directly on to consumers.

Mike Foster, chief executive of the Energy and Utilities Alliance, said “ramping up the penalties that are passed on to consumers shows a worrying lack of awareness.

“At a time when demand for heat pumps is falling, only the economically illiterate would suggest that supply is the problem.

“The heating industry will have no choice but to pass this additional cost on to the consumer; ultimately, they are the ones who will suffer because of this net zero zealotry."

Spending on benefits and pensions for foreign nationals totalled about £23bn in 2025, research conducted by the Centre for Social Justice (CSJ) has revealed. About 1.85m non-British nationals received at least one form of welfare support last year, data shows.

The CSJ said the rise in benefits claims had “accompanied the unprecedented rise in immigration seen in recent years”.

Sir Ian Duncan Smith, founder of the CSJ, said “At a time when families and businesses are being clobbered with yet more taxes, many will be deeply concerned at the extent to which governments have let unconstrained immigration drive up the welfare bill.”

Labour has confirmed that from January 2027, imported fertiliser will have a UK carbon tax. (Moronic)

This will push up the cost of growing British food, hurting farmers and consumers.

I predict Burnham will then say rejoining the EU would solve the problem!

But remember… This is a tax imposed by the BRITISH GOVERNMENT. They are doing it to us.

Labour has CHOSEN to impose this tax and will use it as a reason to rejoin.

Israeli company Steakholder Foods is behind the rollout, selling the following products under the brand name PERFECTA:

The fake meat is printed using soy flour, rapeseed oil, modified starch, methylcellulose, gums, and artificial meat coloring.
