America in a nutshell:

Angel: There's a lot I don't understand. But I do know it's important to keep fighting. I learned that from you.
Buffy: But we never...
Angel: We never win.
Buffy: Not completely.
Angel: Never will. That's not why we fight. We do it because there's things worth fighting for.

Reporter: What extent are Americans’ financial situation motivating you to make a deal?
Trump: Not even a little bit. I don't think about Americans’ financial situation
One thing I made peace with in 2026 is that I don't have to. I don't have to go above and beyond for others. I don't always have to be the bigger person. I don't have to fix what I didn't break. I don't have to show up for those who don't show up for me. And I definitely don't have to sacrifice my own happiness to please everyone else.
"I have only a short time to live, only one death to die, and I will die fighting for this cause. There will be no peace in this land until slavery is done for."

Haunted by this passage from Fahrenheit 451 in which a retired professor describes how the abolition of reading began with the shuttering of newspapers and the closing of college humanities departments.
“If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you". Wise words that still ring true today spoken by an upstanding Texan, LBJ in 1964… let it sink in that it’s now 2026.

wake up, America. Iranians are not “animals.” Palestinians are not animals. immigrants are not animals. our leaders are teaching you to fear people with less power than you so we don’t all join forces to confront the people with MORE power than all of us
We can live without AI. what we cannot live without is fresh water, farmers, agriculture, land. stop supporting ai because it is destroying our planet.
Now we are seeing John Fetterman going on Fox Propaganda almost daily spreading right-wing lies, promoting their fascism and recently giving advice on live tv to republicans on how to take the midterms. He’s a disgraceful fraud and a traitor who betrayed all who supported him.
Something that breaks my heart as a Millennial is how fucking optimistic and fun our teenage years and 20s were. Like we envisioned a TOTALLY different world from the one that we've got and insanely divorced from what Gen-Z are experiencing. It's hard to put in words how fantastic we thought life was gonna be and how it seemed like we were making tangible social progress. We've had all of that ripped away from us.
