@2ndChancePoints@MarkEnnis It’s interesting that most people (nationally and locally) talk about an offensive style change, when the portal additions and staff turnover point much more clearly to a defensive overhaul (and incremental but not substantial offensive tweaks)
Orioles Hall of Famer @MBordick joined us this morning and divulged into an EPIC rant about Gunnar Henderson, the Orioles current struggles and their organizational approach to the game:
“I’m just really frustrated.” #Birdland
@TheBestWager @Colin_Hanley1 Only 11 players in the country last year hit a 4+% steal rate and 2+% block rate (who played significant minutes). Only 4 players in the portal.
The honest framing here should that Donovan blew the chance at two of the four best jobs in the sport (UNC and UK) to coach a mediocre NBA team that had no playoff hopes. No amount of sour grapes leaking to journos changes that that is the reality
UNC should have waited until the literal last day of the portal to even start talkin to a prospective coach? Is Donovan really so much better of a candidate than Malone to merit that deference?
UNC simply could've waited for Donovan. Instead, they panicked and got Malone (a good coach!) so they had someone once the portal opened.
With only one commit so far in Avdalas, fair to wonder if it was worth it.
Also funny to claim Wooley is better off-ball then cute the MSU game, one of the few games this season where Wooley predominantly played on ball. Not sure how to square that circle.
Funny to claim Kelsey miscast Wooley as an on-ball player when Kelsey is on the record-multiple times-saying he played Wooley off ball most of the season because he didn’t think Wooley was ready to play on ball.
@robholmesiv Kinda hard to trash talk Duke this hard when they’ve handled us 4 times in the last 2 years, right? Maybe let’s hold off on the talk until we actually compete with them on the court
@jlightsy7 Carr going to Indiana (and the general idea of changes in the staff) was reported on multiple message boards over the weekend. Anyone with a subscription could see them. This wasn’t some exclusive scoop you had. Come on man, stop clout chasing.
@Jefebr0hm Why is Rooths on your list buddy? Truly embarrassing performance tonight. At least one upshot of the last few games is making clear (to the extent it wasn’t already) that he can’t be even a semi-significant piece on next year’s team
He’s a career 20% shooter from three and 64% from the line. Unacceptable from a power conference wing. The rebounding and defense are useful against SMUs, but he can’t contribute against Dukes until that changes
“This is Khani Rooths. He’s one of the most athletic players in the ACC and he’s only a sophomore. He averages 10.7 pts and 7.7 rebs in games where he plays 20+ minutes. Louisville is 6-1 in these games. The only problem is he doesn’t get enough playing time.”
@SSN_UOFL@TySpalding@Nick_Hogan15 Even though he’s shooting 30% from three, you’d still rather have a 6’10 power forward who at least has a hope of making a three instead of what we’re getting now
@TySpalding@Nick_Hogan15 Back in April, I fought with a lot of people (you included, with respect) on the old Rivals message boards (RIP) about how disastrous a decision it was to take Pryor back. Forced Scott out the door, foreclosed upgrading at rhe 4. We’re reaping the harvest of that now.
