I have zero respect for anyone that brings up “expensive budget” as the sole reason for criticizing The Acolyte. Also how limiting it must be agonizing over box office numbers rather than just enjoying Star Wars in movie theaters.
Anyone who isn't excited for the new God of War Laufey is dumb. I don't make the rules.
Not only is Deborah Ann Woll one of the hottest women alive, she's a nerd of the highest order.
Not a soul should be anything less than fully geeked about this.
I have spoken.
Watching through the Maul arcs in TCW and Rebels with my son post-Maul and nothing makes me happier than seeing him tap into his inner nerd.
He hasn't seen much of TCW so today before we started the S7 stuff he insisted we finish 5 so he knows Ahsoka's expulsion arc. So proud 🥲
🚨 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦: Leslye Headland says she’d still like to make The Acolyte Season 2, which would have explored Qimir and connections to the sequel trilogy.
‘We did have a lot of stuff that we wanted to explore, including tying in lore to the sequels.’

Not to pigeonhole him, but let the man expand on the politics of every era. High Republic, Clone Wars, Shadow Council/Imperial Remnant and New Republic/Resistance, and post-Sequels rebuild. Hell, Old Republic, Sith Empire. Do it all.
The comments on this are mostly "they could've done this". And I understand the sentiment. But this is an awful way to judge art.
There are infinite possibilities of what they could've done. If you focus on what they chose to do and why, you're more likely to be able to enjoy.
Did Rian Johnson really have any other choice?
JJ Abrams wrote a story in The Force Awakens built off of the MacGuffin that Luke Skywalker had disappeared. An apprentice had fallen to the Dark Side, and that led Luke to go off to a place no one could find him.
So, what could Rian have done differently with Luke Skywalker when he set out to write a consistent story that builds off of The Force Awakens?
