The photo they used for this book cover was taken back in 2013. There has been several photoshoots taken ever since including the promotional campaign for Kenzo, Piece of Me Reimagined, Glory, Domination, and her perfume line. She did have some photoshoots at home (with both professional cameras and her phone) that would fit perfectly for the book.

I added the forest + the Oz palace for a richer environment, enhanced the refractions in Glinda's bubble, and added stronger highlights and shadows to visually create a darker tone, which is what Jon M. Chu is going with this movie.
