@juliejf@theliamnissan Mastodon's UI is very similar to Twitter, actually. Choosing a server is a one-time thing, and there are some tools that can help you decide. (Or you can just go for one that some other people you know are using.) In any case, you can follow and reply to people on other servers.
@gerrycanavan So... do you have any plan to shift to a different platform yet? You're one of the few active people I'm following that I don't have any other place to interact with. What do you think about Mastodon?
@juliejf@theliamnissan Just dipping in here briefly this evening... this among many other developments in the last month+ make me urge you to get off this platform. There is no community to preserve here, because Prime Twit has complete control.
@juliejf@ShayTotten A 473-page screed about the dangerous influence of the Catholic Church in the United States, according to the Seventh Day Adventists. At least that's what a brief examination seemed to indicate. I'm not inclined to go any deeper.
Thinking of @ursulakleguin on her birthday. To celebrate her activist side as well as her writing, here's a photo of her in Portland, early 1980s, demonstrating for abortion rights.
@PittKristin FWIW, I am very much NOT voting Republican in the congressional elections. And if there has been a rightward drift amongst my age group, I have not witnessed it. But I suspect these poll numbers are not really reflective of Vermont.
@sepinwall Oh, I see... you were wondering why she did not burn up everybody at the ceremony. Honestly, I think it's because she is a decent person and doesn't want to escalate in a shocking way when the whole point would be to assume legitimate rule of the Seven Kingdoms.
@sepinwall Well... she was separated from her rescuer and had no other way to get out of King's Landing than finding her dragon, and she decided to tell Alicent "No!" in emphatic terms before leaving. At least, that's how I read it.
