In defense of Indian 🇮🇳 democracy!

During Prime Minister Narendra Modi most successful visit to Norway a minor incident happened. A Norwegian journalist demanded that the prime minister starts holding press conferences. She claimed that Indian democracy is in bad shape.

May be its time to pause? May be its time to be a bit curious to the world’s largest democracy?

Two weeks ago five Indian states and territories held elections. The turn out in the battlefield state of West Bengal was 94%. In the last local election in Norway it was 62%, in many European local elections turn out is below 50%. Can voting in massive numbers be a signal Indians trust their democratic process?

In the same election BJP won big in Assam and West Bengal. It lost even bigger in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Can this diversity be a signal that Indian democracy is reflecting the will of the people?

The journalist referred to a democracy ranking putting India at 157 in the world, behind many dictatorships and deeply troubled states. When a ranking is so obviously contrary to common sense, why not ask critical questions to those making the ranking rather than demand that leaders shall comment on nonsense? I recommend Salvatore Babones book “Dharma democracy”. The book debunks convincingly the flawed methodology of these rankings.

It was referred to a ranking claiming it’s very dangerous to be a journalist in India. Reality is that it is more dangerous to be journalist in the US and far more dangerous in the vast majority of other nations in the world.

Let’s be real. India is not perfect. Of course there are incidents. India has a population the size of North America, South America and Europe combined. But India is much more peaceful than Europe or the Americas. That’s remarkable - given the ethnic, language and religious diversity of India and the many development challenges.

Unless we consider democracy a form of government only suited for some very small, peaceful and homogeneous Western European nations, may be we should commend Indian democracy?

India is the only major former UK colony which became and has remained a democracy. Its sometimes claimed that the Brits taught India democracy. If that was the case why isn’t Myanmar or Pakistan or the Gulf kingdoms democracies??? Reality is that Indian democracy is both homegrown and extraordinary successful.

When even his lawyers are intimidated, threatened and silenced in court corridors, what justice are we even talking about?
Is advocating for the rights of the Minority Hindu community a crime? When a saffron-clad soul is treated like a criminal for raising his voice, the world CANNOT remain silent.

I appeal to the Government of Bangladesh to give medical aid and, more importantly, access to fair justice to Chinmoy Krishna Das Prabhu immediately. May he be granted bail at the earliest.

Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari did not even wait 24 hours. In a massive midnight administrative surgical strike, over 40 top IPS officers and District Magistrates loyal to the previous regime have been abruptly transferred.

This is the brutal reality of the Indian bureaucratic system. The police and administration are rarely loyal to the Constitution and they become private armies for the ruling party. The moment the government changes, the entire police brass has to be purged to secure the state.

He has already demonstrated his leadership and risk taking capacity by taking on Mamata directly and defeating her in her own bastion, twice.

He has been in TMC. He knows how the politically supported crime networks operate, who protects whom, where the money flows, how intimidation works, and how deep the criminal-political nexus runs. Few people would understand the anatomy of Bengal’s entrenched power structure better than someone who has seen it from the inside.

He is aggressive, confrontational, and authority-driven, closer to Yogi Adityanath and Himanta Biswa Sarma. Bengal’s situation may now require exactly that kind of leadership.

I'm sure the wrath of God awaits Bengal's crime and terror networks through the rise of Suvendu Adhikari.

In Ahmednagar, MH, Heena Sheikh takes tuition for girls. Most of her students are Hindu. She tells her Hindu students to stop wearing teeka and bangles.

She lets Avej Sheikh sit in her class even though he is not a student. Tells Hindu girls to be friends with Avej. Encourages them to share pictures with Avej.

Avej tells atleast 8 girls he loves them, tries to establish sexual relations. His sister, Alisha Shaikh helps him convince all these girls that he loves them. If not Alisha threatens the girls to publish their morphed pictures. The original pictures are just selfies Heena Shaikh had convinced girls to take in her class.

Other adults from community get involved and take girls to Masjid. Maulvi knows what's going on. Every Muslim in village knows. They are all together, raising money, funding, to target 8 underage girls.

Eventually this exploitation of Hindu girls, call it grooming or #LoveJihad is exposed. Avej Nisar Sheikh, Kaif Sheikh, Sohail Sheikh, Heena Sheikh, Alisha Sheikh, Salim Pathan, Altaf Sheikh and Shakir Sayyed booked.

Now think about it, teachers, Muslim boys, their sisters, father, brothers, mother, maulvi & other members of Muslim society all come together to target your underage Hindu girls.

Just think about it.

Now repeat after me, #LoveJihad doesn't exist. They are not after your children. It's just love. Don't be a hater. Love Jihad doesn't exist. TCS doesn't exist.
