When Ss write every day, they write more than can / should be graded.

RESIST over grading.

Set goals - yours and students. Measure progress on those goals.

@MissNikkiIn5th I hear you! Had a “debate” recently on that too; it took everything I know about actual debate to realize that that person just wasn’t going to budge. When countered with research, they spiraled into logical fallacies. At the end of the day, we must support ALL of our students.

@Maire_from_NJ I left for a year (after working in a toxic school) came back to the classroom 8 years ago & am now an instructional coach (still teach a class too). The transitions in and out offer perspective. Sometimes changing districts (even if it means losing tenure like I did) is worth it
