@HxDataScience scores on datacamp exercises are not updating on the Probability course - Staff hasn't answered questions (including about this) in 4 months. EdX Help directs me to Staff. Would hate to miss the certificate becaus of it. Any tip?
@TheRealJimShady @rstatstweet No reason to prefer one over the other, unless the small usage difference matters to you, or if you do a lot of work without tidyverse - in which case you now have a very useful feature in base R, requiring no package whatsoever. So yeah, being native is a part of it.
@TheRealJimShady @rstatstweet Same usefulness as %>%: you can chain operations without creating single-use objects (aka clutter), and write more readable code.
@rypsych@rstats_tweets So it's good practice to always use quotation marks? Or is there a reverse to this situation in which tick marks work but quotation won't?
@Dannoflagellate @rstats_tweets Translation to English in comments: "This will fetch the column x on the data frame y and apply the function z to each line, writing it in a new column j".
@Aerials255 Got into psychology at 28, I'm now 36 on the 2nd year of my PhD. The added age has brought nothing but benefits from day 1, to the point that I recommend it.
@renegade_author@rstats_tweets You use them when you want to name a character value, like "Lisbon" from a column or a vector called cities. If you don't use quotes, R will think you're pointing to an object (eg, that vector or column).
@renegade_author@rstats_tweets Takes the output of whatever code is to the left of it, and sends it as input to whatever code is to the right of it. I read it as "and send this result to".
@bmwiernik@dsquintana@zotero Sounds good. But I was wondering how they'll look like/be displayed on the external app. For example, Mendeley pushed content to the end and added small references, instead of actual highlights and comments next to the text (as you had done them within Mendeley).
@bmwiernik@dsquintana@zotero If annotations made in Zotero show up nicely in an external app (e.g., acrobat) in case I want to access a PDF on a computer without zotero (all my PDFs are moved to cloud storage once imported).
