@mattbaran@chris_m_koehler « specialized software for local code and building code / redlining » that’s pretty interesting. How do you feed relevant information to it ?
@chris_m_koehler@mattbaran For simple, verifiable stuff, like cost estimates, with enough layer of references and documentation, Claude is good. It saves me a lot of time on setting up the basis and getting up to date known / fixed fees like union hourly rates.
@mattbaran And then there was the « merge » (sigh). It took me years after that to board on that bandwagon. But in the end, Revit made me autonomous and now I’m training Claude with the same mindset. I guess that thinking outside the box never gets old.
@StevenLevy@WIRED Can we train AI to spot and flag AI generated content automatically ? If so can we please incorporate that into basic search engine / phone / pc as default ?
"[BC] has updated the BC building code to remove the code requirement for a second egress, or exit, stairwell per floor in buildings up to six storeys. This change will make it possible to build housing projects on smaller lots and in different configurations."
You're up, ON.
@bethanyjbabcock Also, if you go above board, and go for the best of the best (like PHI certified windows), then you’ll most likely also reconsider the insulation of the opaque walls as well, because you know, confort and energy bill.
@bethanyjbabcock It would be a good idea to hire a local architect to receive appropriate directions. I can tell you to invest in good thermos pane, with low heat gain, maybe triple pane for acoustic reason, but being on the other side of the continent, not sure how helpful it is.
@ScottFarbman@antonia_mdprjct Yes. That’s what I have been told by a serviceman. But that is compared to an equivalent central unit. I haven’t checked for myself nor contacted any manufacturer on comparative expected service life.
