@chrisgraves1974@metoffice Here in Malton, North Yorkshire, we’ve averaged about 100mm of rain every month since July! That’s touching double the average rainfall. Seriously depressed with it.
Golf off-season; November to March
For the 10-years of 2013-14 to 2022-23 the average total rainfall for the 5-month period of November to March was 282mm…
The same 5-months of 2023-24 has so far seen 382mm, with 6 weeks still to go 🤮
Golf Season - April to October
For the 10-years of 2013 to 2022 the average total rainfall for the 7-month period of April to October was 339mm…
The same 7-month period in 2023 saw 575mm, that’s 236mm of rainfall more than expected 🤮
@richjacq2609 Am I allowed to be a tiny bit annoyed that we were 2mm short? 😅😅 We’ll just have to say we ‘averaged’ over 100mm a month for the last 4 months now. Surely we deserve a great Spring & Summer…
@IanJosephHarri5 I think people use it as a way to 'give the greens a rest'.
Haven't used temp greens for frost/frozen greens for 20 years and never seen any damage. If we took greens off for frost/frozen conditions plus course closed for rainfall, we'd have no members left 🤷♂️ #letthemplay
@northyorkswx@richjacq2609@mandngc Yep, absolute nightmare! My last 18-hole round at M&NGC was in late October, and not for the want of trying. 😢☔️ Did December give us our first 3-month of consecutive 100mm+? Did we break the 1000mm annual barrier?
