To those who say "it's her choice" I used to say the same thing about my own Hijab.
I was covered head to toe. Even on the beach. Even with my male relatives. And when people challenged me, I said: this is my choice. You know why? Because the other option was burning in hell, hung by my hair for eternity. That's what they taught me since childhood.
Yes, let me repeat it for you to just understand about our version of “freedom of choice.” I grew up in an Islamist culture that gave me two options. Cover yourself and go to heaven. Or don't cover, and be hanged by your hair and burned in hell.
Like when someone puts a gun to your head and says "you can go left or right", technically, yes, that's a choice.
I picked heaven. I called it freedom. And I believed it, because that's what happens when fear is all you've ever known.
And if you think I shouldn't be telling you my story, I don't care. I really, genuinely, from the bottom of my heart, don't care. The women still living under that "choice"? I care about them.

Should Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, pay the same amount of taxes into Social Security as a fireman or nurse? Of course not.
The answer isn't complicated. Let's lift the cap and make the wealthiest people in America pay their fair share to strengthen Social Security.
Russia tried to blow up 2 planes in Germany last night with drones. One flew right into a DHL cargo jet as it was attempting to land. Then another drone hit a parked AN-124. These are terrorist attacks calculated to kill. Wake up people.

I am utterly ashamed.
I am utterly ashamed that the US has stopped any help to Ukraine. We promised Ukrainians that if they give up their nuclear weapons we will guarantee their sovereignty. We made it official and called it the 1994 Budapest Memorandum. But when Ukrainian sovereignty came under attack in 2014, we did nothing. Just as we are doing nothing today to stop the russian aggression.
I am utterly ashamed of the US president – a man who not only refused to help Ukraine survive, but openly sided with war criminal Putin. Since Trump took office, russia has exponentially increased its missile and drone strikes on Ukrainian cities and civilians. Trump gave them silent permission.
I am utterly ashamed of those who voted for Trump, and especially those who still, after all the lies and betrayals, continue to cheer him on. I find such behavior despicable and morally bankrupt.
Finally, I am utterly ashamed of everyone who remains silently complicit in this genocide. People who claim that they are "neutral." The time of judgment will come – whether in this life or eternity. As Dietrich Bonhoeffer said: "Silence in the face of evil is itself evil; God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act."
As someone living in Kyiv, I’m begging you:
Please help us stop this.
Almost every night, russia strikes Kyiv with ballistic missiles, hitting civilians, homes, and warehouses.
We can’t stop these missiles because we don’t have enough Patriot systems.
People are dying.
Please don’t look away. Share what’s happening in Ukraine. Help us save lives.
8 people were killed waiting for a train last night. A journey they would never make.
Russia has been murdering civilians at train stations constantly. They killed 60 civilians evacuating Kramatorsk in 2022.
There’s no soldiers here. Just innocent people waiting to go home

⚡️ The U.S. Senate has given the green light to crushing new sanctions against Russia
The U.S. Senate voted 86–12 to advance Senator Lindsey Graham's sweeping Russia sanctions bill.
The legislation would impose tough new restrictions not only on Moscow but also secondary sanctions targeting countries and companies that continue buying Russian oil, gas, and other energy exports.
I have to say this daily, but if Muslims did this to ONE Jewish temple, the world would be OUTRAGED.
Israel has now destroyed over 1,000 mosques in Gaza and the West Bank.
It’s the single biggest destruction of holy sites in the modern HISTORY OF THE WORLD.

On the night of July 28-29, 2022, a powerful explosion occurred on the territory of the former penal colony in occupied Olenivka. Ukrainian prisoners of war were being held there in a separate barracks. The day before the explosion, the Russians took about 200 soldiers from the Azov regiment and placed them there. As a result of the explosion, about 50 people were killed and another 70 were injured.
Eyewitnesses say that people were burned alive. Those who tried to get out onto the road were shot. No one provided medical assistance. The Russians just watched as people died. Captured medics tried to save those they could, wrapping people in pieces of cloth. Only in the morning were the wounded loaded into trucks like cattle and taken away. “In Olenivka, they burned what was left of my faith in people,” recalls one of the freed medics.
War crimes have no statute of limitations, and we will seek to establish the truth about what happened. May the memory of the victims live on, and may their families find strength.
